Renewed Song festival

Zlaty kľuč is wellknown festival of Slovak music art since it took place from 1970 to 1988. After a seven-year break it was renewed in Selenca, but only its part concerning dancing. The novel songs had to search for a new home, and finally found it in Kulpin. On June 11, in 2006 the event took place at Museum of Agriculture and justified its existence. Mr Ondrej Maglovski, an eminent musician and composer, is the main initiator of the idea with a little but genial help of KUS Zvolen-Kulpin, Radio and TV Station Novi Sad and local authorities in Kulpin. Competition was organized in customary way and twenty-nine novel songs participated in the contest. The jury chose fifteen song to be recorded on CD and performed on Novi Sad radio station. At the opening night Ana Tomanova Makanova- the chairwoman of Chomber of Nationalities of Slovak National Minority had the honour to address to the audience.

RTV Novi Sad Folk Orchestra and conductor Juraj Ferik and Ferenc Kovač had a duty to perform music well and members of the jury: Erzsebet Glusica, Martin Kmet, Pavel Tomas, Juraj Ferik and Jan Kopcok to chose the best of best.
Kvetoslava Benkova got the first prize and her song Jarna tužba, the second one got Ondrej Maglovski, the third prize got Miroslav Kardelis.

The lyrics of the song „Piesen rodemu Kulpinu“ by Jaroslav Feldy, got the first prize and for arranging it the prize got Ferenc Kovac. There were much more prizes and rewards and about one thousand people came to listen to the good music and to have good time. TV broadcasting was realized by TV Novi Sad and the hostess was Jarmila Zimova and the host Jan Chalupka.

Some other event took place during the festival days such exhibitions of art in the Museum of Agriculture, and Renault car company presented their vehicles to the visitors. An exhibition of photographs of two authors could be also seen by visitors.

The first attempt to renew the Festival of Novel Slovak Songs in Kulpin was successfull and attractive firework made this event to be more impressive.
